  • Bosco della Spina is located in an ancient village, Lupompesi, in the municipality of Murlo in the province of Siena, in a strategic place where the most beautiful landscapes of Tuscany meet: the Crete Senesi, the woods of Maremma, the Val d’Orcia, the vineyards of Montalcino.

  • In less than 40 minutes by car, on a panoramic and relaxing route, you reach the most stunning towns in southern Tuscany (Siena, Pienza, Montalcino, San Quirico d'Orcia, Monteriggioni, Montepulciano) and visit Val d’Orcia, the Chianti Area, and Crete Senesi.

  • Siena offers a stunningly colorful cathedral, as well as the sloping Piazza del Campo, home to the semiannual Palio horse race. We strongly recommend excursions to the beautiful abbeys in Tuscany: Cistercian San Galgano and the Hermitage of Monte Siepi with a legendary sword embedded in a stone; the 14th c Monte Uliveto Maggiore; and the Abbey of Sant'Antimo in a picture-perfect setting.

  • For spa lovers we suggest a visit to the hot springs at the Etruscan-era Bagno Vignoni with its historic pool located in the central square, as well as the ancient Roman thermal springs in the woods, Bagni di Petriolo, or the beautiful Bagni San Filippo with its imposing white limestone formation and surrounding nature trails.

  • Less than an hour's drive away are San Gimignano with its imposing towers (one of Tuscany’s several UNESCO World Heritage Sites), Sorano with two fortresses, and tiny Sovana (no steep steps!). A day jaunt to Florence, fabulously rich in Renaissance art and architecture, is a must. Visit Arezzo, a university town, which offers famed Tuscan beef, and tour the breathtaking Tuscan coast along the Tyrrhenian Sea (Punta Ala and Castiglione della Pescaia).

  • Particularly interesting position also for cyclists: Bosco della Spina is located in the land of the legendary route of L'Eroica, Grand Tour della Val di Merse, and Strade Bianche.
